Biography

Born in Chicago, Niles was sketching and painting by the age of eight. Captivated by the power of artistic expression, he developed a passion to create and eventually earned a BFA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Niles' paintings, prints and mixed media drawings have been purchased by numerous private and corporate collectors over the years.

The consummate artist, Niles has had a duel career as an actor starring as Dr. Clay Jordan on the popular soap opera "The Edge of Night", appearing as star, guest star, or featured player in movies, television series, and in over 800 television and radio commercials. The cinematic close-up, an imaging technique repeated in Niles' contemporary portraits is a direct influence from that experience.

Art, like music, dance or acting, is all about the marriage of personal vision and skill. Niles is fascinated by the dialogue between a subject and its visual expression.
